Applicable Laws
Generally, the Colorado Corporations Act governs most activity and business transactions. It is somewhat similar to other states. If you own a business or corporation you understand that your by-laws and operating documents must be sound and articulate.
Formation & Incorporation Help For New Entities
Our corporate business attorneys help you get through the mystery incorporation and filing requirements. In addition, our firm trains new business owners on the basic requirements of Colorado corporate law and commercial matters. Like most LLCs, corporations must be established in accordance with the applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which the entity is to be formed.
While state laws governing the formation of Corporations are very similar, certain procedures, forms, maintenance requirements and filing expenses vary from state to state. Generally, you must file a charter document (usually called “Articles of Incorporation”) with the Colorado Secretary of State, and pay the required filing fees. The fees for filing the Articles of Incorporation range from $50 to $1,000, depending on the jurisdiction in which you file.
Understanding Your Mission is Critical
At Watson, we start our relationship by first understanding your industry, mission objectives and goals. Whether you are mostly dealing with commercial and UCC matters, we quickly get involved and bring solutions to the table. Without this critical understanding, our corporate lawyers cannot effectively solve your problems. This is a critical matter usually missed. By becoming a critical part of your team, we make ourselves readily available to solve problems and provide concise advice and recommendations.
